Ashley and I discussed different timing strategies and studied different vocabulary words for the SAT. We also went over the questions that she got wrong on her homework.
Today, Ashley took a timed practice SAT test based on the material that we have covered so far in class. After the timed test, we discussed different strategies to help Ashley pace herself on the test.

Lesson Comments
Ashley did a great job on her Reading Comprehension homework.
We completed section 3.1 in her precalculus book on exponential functions, one to one properties, the natural base, and compound interest. Then, we did a couple average problems on the SAT.
Assignment
Section 3.1 practice problems and practice math SAT test
Went over her homework and finding the zeros of a polynomial of degree 4 that follows a quadratic pattern. Then we moved on to Chapter 3, section 1 Exponential Functions. What is an exponential function, what do the graphs look like, how to determine if they are One to One, and how to solve an exponential equation using the One to One property.
Chapter 2 Finding zeros of polynomials of high degree.
Lesson Outline
We did an example in class with a polynomial of degree 4, finding the possible rational roots by using the Rational Root Theorem, and using synthetic division to factor down the polynomial into linear factors to find the zeros. Then, I had her do a problem.
1. Preparation of homogenous mixture, carbon and water. Set up the apparatus for fi;ltration.Separate solid from liquid using filtration technique.
2. Preparation of homogenous mixture, slfur and iron. Separate solids using the physical property(magnetic)of the iron fillings using magnet.
