Devin and Ashley had not read the assignment for today (The Open Window). I allowed them to spend 10 minutes reading while I helped Sadie do a final edit of her creative writing piece for the art show. After that we studied vocabulary and prepared for MOnday's vocab test on unit 2.

In Devin's defense, there is a slight chance that something happened to his photocopy of the story before he left class (as in I might have accidentally taken it). He had no recollection of the assignment and wasn't reminded of it b/c he didn't have the photocopies with the work that he did bring home (he WAS particularly well prepared for vocabulary).
