We played with the electric keyboard, and did some of the finger exercises built into it. The keys light up, so you have to match the lights with your fingers. We also played with different sounds and songs built into the keyboard.

We focused on playing and reading right hand and left hand note groups A through E around middle C. We worked on associating specific keys to the notes on the treble clef lines and spaces.

Jack reviewed the notes on the treble clef and bass clef using the mnemonic devices. Jack practiced half note rhythms, page 10 and worked on Hidden Music Words, page 13.

Jack worked in his "Little Fingers Learning" book. He practiced "Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge" (EGBDF) keys on the piano. The 2nd part of the session was watching a Batt student's (Aiden) Catfish Presentation.

Jack worked on practicing his piano keys that he had learned in his previous class.

Play C major scales right hand and left hand ascending and descending. We did an exercise to associate written notes with their corresponding keys on the piano.

We worked on playing patterns on the set of 3 black keys between F and B. Jack completed an exercise in his Theory book where he wrote in the finger numbers and then played his song on the black keys while I played an accompaniment. We played some C major scales, and discussed the classical composers, Mozart, Beethoven, and Chopin.

We worked on finger exercises and playing full octave scales. We also talked about note values - quarter notes, half notes, and whole notes.

We practiced half scales C through G ascending and descending. We then learned how to play a full octave C major scale by crossing the thumb under while ascending, and the middle finger over while descending on the right hand.
