I substituted for Ben today in Reading.
Ben shared a very interesting video about the internet.
we discussed the video as it was playing and hopefully we will be able to see the conclusion next time.
Reading focus - multi-syllabic words and context clues. We worked on pronunciation with difficult words today. We also studied using context clues as a way to determine the meaning of unfamiliar words.
We reviewed practices for good readers. Then we read the short story, "How to Ignore a House on Fire." We focused on Kellan slowing down for proper pronunciation of words. He also used a ruler to track his reading.
I subbed for PJ's intensive reading class today. He read "A Closer Look: Thermal Expansion in Solids" from the science workbook, summarized it, and answered follow-up questions.
