Lesson Comments
Nicholas was more awake today than on Wednesday. He was very cooperative and enjoyed reading together.
Ben came to our session very excited about the novel we are reading. He shared that, although he wasn't sure about the novel in the beginning, it was getting really exciting now and he sometimes doesn't want to put it down! The novel has a lot of high level vocabulary, and Ben is doing a great job of understanding unknown words by using context clues. He also is enjoying Golding's writing style, specifically, his use of visual imagery. Ben is working on creating vivid imagery in his own writing and loves it when he sees a sentence in a text that we consider "perfect!". Ben is truly beginning to "read like a writer" and "write like a reader". I am very pleased with his growth. We had a wonderful "book talk" about future novels, and it is wonderful to see how excited he is about reading and writing!
