Trenton did a fabulous job in our session today. We began with a review of the spelling digraphs /sh/ and /ch/. He then did a word building exercise and reviewed his spelling words for the week. Next, Trenton read an article about William Harrison and John Tyler. He was able to answer all 10 passage questions, citing text evidence for his answers. This morning I worked with Jayne on reading. She could not find the Junie B. Jones book she had read a chapter from last week so we picked out a new one. She chose "Junie B First Grader Cheater Pants". We took turns reading aloud and discussed each of the three chapters we read. Jayne really enjoyed it and seems tickled by Junie B's mischievous behavior! We also spent some time reading "Wemberly Worried" and "Owen" - both by Kevin Henkes. We talked about things that worry Jayne and ways that she is able to stop worrying. She said she sometimes gets worried about being alone in the dark. She said she has a dream catcher and that helps a lot!
