Literature:
The emperors of the Ice -
Ana and I read the first chapter of the book ‘The Emperors of the Ice’, by Richard Farr. She was then tasked with answering three questions from a long list. She chose to answer as many questions she could. We worked on getting these answers into a longer paragraph, before she submitted her work.

Science:
Allergies -
We discussed what causes someone to be allergic, and some of the most common allergens. Ana was asked to discuss what she would think if her school suddenly announced that no student could bring any peanut product to school. We answered the chapter questions and turned in her report.

Chronic Illness -
Ana and I worked on her Health classwork. We discussed what chronic illnesses were and how a young person would deal with having a long-lasting disease. We answered the chapter questions and turned in her report.

Asthma -
We talked about what it would be like to suddenly not be able to take a deep breath. We researched how asthma is treated and how patients must avoid trigger situations that may start an asthma attack. We answered the chapter questions and turned in her report.

Diabetes -
Ana compared and contrasted type 1 and type 2 diabetes. We talked about how hard it would be to have to constantly monitor your blood sugar, and inject yourself with insulin. We answered the chapter questions and turned in her report.

Ana completed two assignments today. She read about and answered questions about castles and the French Revolution.

Ana watched a video about the Renaissance. The assignment also includes taking notes about the video.

Ana read a lengthy article on various English monarchs, from Henry VII to Elizabeth I. She then completed several questions about each.

Ana viewed a 30-minute video about the young Princess Elizabeth while living with her father, King Henry the VIII. Ana's assignment was to write a paragraph about the video.

Ana completed an assignment about medieval food. The assignment required online research and responding to specific questions.

Ana completed two assignments. She defined vocabulary words from the Midwife's Apprentice based on context and answered questions about Rousseau and Copernicus.

Ana completed two assignments. One was on Martin Luther and the Reformation. The other was on The Midwife's Apprentice.

Ana was able to complete one of the lessons for the Midwife's Apprentice. She continued to read the next several chapters in preparation for the following lessons.
