Today Patrick continued in his FF program. He did a great job in Magic Rabbit, beating his high score. In LB, Patrick began a new activity in his book. Patrick also looked at the boat he made and used his words to verbalize how he had created it. Patrick learned that authors write for different purposes. We discussed how recipes are to inform people and how writing a how-to-piece is similar. Patrick listed the supplies he needed in order to recreate his boat. Then he began listing the necessary steps. He is learning how important it is to be detail oriented when writing a how-to . Have a great weekend!
Sub- Alia- Today Patrick watched a video about counting coins. This video explained to him how to skip count using coins. He used this knowledge to play coin counting games. He used all four coins. Patrick practiced making equal amounts using different coins. He played some basketball to reinforce these skills. He expressed a value given different coins. Then Patrick used the dry erase board to draw pictures of coins expressing a stated value. Good work!

Sub-for Miss Alia -Today Patrick joined his peers in playing a game during his math time. He played Yahtzee and had to make logical decisions, as to which dice to keep. He did a great job adding numbers together to keep track of his score. Patrick read from his book, Diary of a Wimpy Kid. He learned what it means to infer.
