Today was a big day for Patrick. In LB, Patrick presented his writing piece to his teachers and peers. He worked on this piece for quite a while, adding lots of detail in order to create a picture in his reader's minds. He was extremely courageous and everyone was proud of him, including himself! He had a large crowd and didn't buckle under pressure! This celebration was a success and most importantly I believe this oral presentation boosted his confidence. Patrick completed his FF program.
Patrick and I spent some time in the cafeteria talking about food. Then we watched "Muzzy". After watching it, we went back to his classroom and discussed the video.

Lesson Comments
Great participation, during instructions and activities.
Today Patrick and I really focused on fluency in reading. Specifically prosody and automaticity. His comprehension and application of reading strategies thus far has been great. He reread level D Little Loon. He read well. When he does make errors (very few) they tend to be visual errors. He tends to look at the first few letters and the guess the word (went-> was or lost -> lonely). Surprisingly, this does not seem to interfere with his comprehension. We also reread the paper he wrote with Miss Dee. He did great!!!!
