Balloon breathing; triangle pose, leg stretches with yoga straps

We used balloons to demonstrate yoga deep breathing, also known as balloon or belly breaths. New pose: triangle and revolved triangle; leg stretches with yoga straps; relaxation with music and lavender lotion. Anna participated fully in class and was excited to learn new poses and stretches.

Quinn had a very difficult time settling down today and was not cooperative during most of class. I tried different ways of engaging him in class and helping to calm him, however nothing worked. He told me he will try to do better next week.
Students will identify and extend number patterns on a hundred chart. They will understand counting and place - value patterns can be seen on a hundred chart. Vocabulary: pattern, skip counting. Practice skip counts by 10s, 2s, 5s, and 3s/ two worksheets.
Quinn: Playing songs with C and G chords; Anna: Playing songs Birthday Party and Sandman's Near
Lesson Outline
Quinn: Continue working on the songs Brother John, Three Blind Mice, and Row Row Row Your Boat.
Anna: Review song Birthday Party, and introduce song Sandman's Near for the left hand.

Anna: She did very well with the new song. We have to break her habit of constantly looking at her fingers and trying to memorize the music. Eyes need to be on the music - some glancing at the keys is ok. Rhythm and timing is very good.
Quinn: We need to work on steady rhythm mostly. He understands his chords and strum technique, but tends to rush during the songs. Tone and accuracy is good.
Define fossils and understand how they are formed, and what they tell us about the past. Discuss about plant fossil in rock, dinosaur tooth fossil, dinosaur footprint in rock, insect fossil in amber, fossil covered in tar.

Both students had nice participation during introduction of the new lesson.
Students will order 3 two-digit numbers from least to greatest or from greatest to least. Discuss to look the tens first, and then discuss if the tens are same, look at the ones. Practice two worksheets.
