"You are a Lion" yoga book; posture (spine); core; handout: ball pose
Lesson Outline
Lesson focused on posture and core. We balanced paper cups on our head and talked about a straight spine. We also discussed our "core" and how we can gain strength (we used exercise balls to do jackknives). Read picture book, "You are a Lion, and other fun yoga poses" and did all the poses in the book. New poses: Lion, ball and boat, happy baby, up dog/down dog. Class ended with exercise ball rolls and free play.

Quinn was hyper today, however several times during class, he slowed down and concentrated on his movements and poses. Both Anna and Quinn seemed to enjoy going through the yoga picture book.
We saw a short Brainpop video about community helpers, then drew the helper we wished to be when we grow up. Then we played "charades" with community helpers.
Students were practicing to read the story about there assigned planet. Then they were learning how to read and act pretending that some people are listening them.
