Anna and Quinn and I researched the decision-making process regarding which bird would be the national symbol. We found that Benjamin Franklin wanted the turkey to be the national symbol. John Adams' idea for the bald eagle won the most votes.
Quinn and Anna completed their research of Mt. Rushmore including the names of the presidents on the monument and the location of the monument. We started looking up information about the bald eagle to add to our study of United States Symbols.

The first part of class we picked out funny animal poses from handouts I had and did the yoga poses. The second part of class we went to the exercise park and playground. We also did some tree poses next to the trees in the park. Today is the last day I will have Anna and Quinn in this school year, as I will not be at school next Friday. Both Anna and Quinn did well with listening and following directions. They fully participated in class.
We read a book about the Washington Monument and finished the portion about the Washington Monument on the poster. We then read a book about Mt. Rushmore and began more research about Mt. Rushmore.
