Today Anna and Quinn worked on lesson 2-7. Lesson 2-7 focused on models for adding 3-digit numbers. Anna and Quinn had to determine the amount the place value blocks represented. Then they had to add the two 3-digit numbers together. Anna and Quinn completed many example problems on the board. Anna did a great job with adding and carrying. Quinn struggled a little bit with where to place the number he had to carry. By the end of class he had a much better understanding of how to do this!
Today Anna and Quinn completed the first part of their chapter 2 science test. This test covered all the vocabulary terms in chapter 2. Anna missed 1 questions and Quinn got a perfect 10 out of 10! We finished class by completing the chapter 2 textbook review. Anna and Quinn also took notes on important information from that chapter that will be on their test. On Friday, Anna and Quinn will complete the 2nd part of their chapter 2 test!
Seated: rock the baby, firelog (new), ball, boat. We then played the Yoga Card game. We each selected a yoga card with a pose on it, and we all did the pose. New poses we learned from the cards were "insect" and "thunderbolt" (chair). Both Anna and Quinn were very attentive in class and earned stickers.
Today Anna, Quinn and I read the book the World's Weirdest Reptiles. Anna and Quinn filled in a graphic organizer with the name of each animal and 1 interesting fact they learned about the reptile. They then shared the fact that they thought was the most interesting with each other. At the end of class, Anna and Quinn completed the short answer part of their chapter 2 test. They both answered every one of the questions correctly!
Today Anna, Quinn and I worked together to complete their chapter 2 review. The completed the free-response version of their chapter test. We reviewed rounding numbers to the tens and hundreds place, adding 4 numbers together, completing a table from information in a story problem. They will take the multiple choice version of this test tomorrow.
Today Anna and Quinn continued working on lesson 2-6. We began by reviewing yesterday's lesson adding 2 digit numbers and rounding 2 digit numbers and then adding and comparing the answers. Today Anna and Quinn had to add 3 digit numbers and round the numbers to the nearest hundred. Then then compared the estimated and actual sums. Anna and Quinn completed the lesson 2-6 problem of the day and many example problems on the board.
We made a chart on the board and drew each of us and what we're wearing. Then we went around the school and described what others are wearing. We finished up with exercises and activities from the workbooks pertaining to clothes.
