Both Quinn and Anna wanted to play ukelele for this session, so they both worked on basic technique and some basic chords. This was review for Anna, and new for Quinn. Quinn did an outstanding job making and playing the chords. Anna had an emotional outburst and meltdown and cried for the last part of the class. She refused to play anymore because she perceived everything as being "too hard." I had her sit quietly and be respectful so that Quinn could continue with class. This is happening with her just about every class now.
Students will tell if the difference between two numbers is more or less than a given multiple of ten. They will understand that rounding can be used to estimate differences, as can place value and number relationships.
