Anna and Quinn were working with their full capacity.
We reviewed many of the things we've been working on lately (colors, shapes, question words) then I introduced the phrase "me gusta" (I like) which we practiced.
Balance: practice balancing poses, seated, standing, knees, belly; discussion of technique of balancing and benefits.
Lesson Outline
Topic today was balance: poses, purpose, techniques. We practiced balancing poses on knees, seated and standing. We discussed focus and practice. I also taught Anna and Quinn a couple of "partner yoga" positions they could do together. I stressed safety and gentle assistance. We ended class with a little free play and a relaxation time with music and lavender lotion. They were able to calm themselves and become still and quiet after a bit.
Anna- Wilson- Worked on spelling multi syllable words.
Quinn- Wilson- played a game using welded sounds.
Together- We read a book about writing letters and worked on our letter writing skills.
Quinn and Ana continued working on habitats. We reviewed major waterways in and around the United States. On their water page they wrote; Atlantic, Pacific, Indian, Arctic, and Southern oceans. They also wrote Mississippi River and 5 Great Lakes. We looked on the IPad and found animals that live in the water. They started drawing the animals and we will also look at plants that live in the water.
Identify features of a woodland forest and plants and animals that live there. Discuss how a woodland forest changes through the seasons. Watch video and discuss what kind of animals and plants live there.

Like always, great discussion and participation of both students, they love science.
Use models to subtract a one digit number from two digit number with or without regrouping. The standard subtraction algorithm breaks the calculation into simpler calculations starting with the ones and then the tens.
Anna and Quinn completed their topographical maps including Keys.Based on the color Key on their maps, they began working on their Habitat booklets. We researched "Deserts" and wrote on the desert page of the booklet. This project will take several days.
