No Stress Chess

For the most part, Anna and Quinn did a good job today. They both set up the board on their own, and stayed focused on the game for about 20 minutes. That seems to the max length of game they can handle. After that, Anna said she was bored and got a little whiny, and once that happened, Quinn started acting out in various ways. I pointed their behavior out to each of them, and they were able to pull it back together to finish the game.

We reviewed our environmental topics. We watched the presentation from TCI, and talked about what kinds of things from the environment we use for food, shelter, and clothing.

We reviewed calendar activities, articles of clothing, then began a review of our body parts.

We continued with the Environment unit. We talked about how people can affect the environment, and the different types of pollution.

We are starting a unit on clothing. We drew pictures of clothes, and dressed a paper frog. We also read "Froggy se viste" (Froggy Gets Dressed).

We did our calendar activities, talked about the weather, and read two books that talked about different kinds of weather.

Practicing to add ones to make the next ten. Use mental math.
Work on the board and complete one worksheet.

Learn to use a thermometer to compare and read temperature.
Discuss that degrees Celsius and degrees Fahrenheit are units of temperature. Students measure the air temperature and water temperature in degrees Celsius and Fahrenheit.

Quinn- Read and spelled words with the suffix s. Practiced for testing out of book one. He is ready!
Anna- Combined two closed syllables to make multisyllabic words. She did awesome!
