Brandon and I continued to work on his final paper for Human Resource Management. He discussed some human resource practices of Dunkin' Brands (lax screening process, no benefits, etc.) and noted what could be improved.
This week is Brandon's finals week, so we tackled the largest of his assignments (a 7-9 page paper due for Human Resource Management). The course asked Brandon to apply some of the concepts he learned from the course in a real-world business scenario, suggesting ways that the human resource management practices can be improved.
Brandon completed the last section of his case scenario paper, addressing recommendations for the reconciliation of the two companies. He added his conclusion and introduction to the paper and submitted everything at the end of our session.
Brandon continued working on his case scenario paper, discussing the problems with the potential merger and acquisition of the two companies. Brandon argued that there was an initial lack of communication between the two groups about the roles of each entity, and this led to widespread confusion and disarray within the two different employee groups.
Brandon continued working on his case scenario paper. For this part of the essay, he compared and contrasted the visions of the two companies under discussion, saying that one of them had a cooperative work environment while the other had a very cut-throat environment. Eventually, Brandon argued, the two company visions were bound to clash.
Brandon and I completed his discussion board posts for Human Resource Management before delving full-fledged into his 7-page essay due Thursday. To begin, we read through the case scenario provided by his instructor, taking notes on the components of the case Brandon would be required to address. Afterwards, we created an outline and began writing his first body paragraph.
