Brandon continued working on his Business Dynamics course, completing the chapter 10 and 11 quiz and his first primary discussion post. To prepare for next week's massive assignments, I encouraged Brandon to have as much completed as possible so that we can begin writing his longer papers. In effect, Brandon completed both of his psychology discussion posts, so all he has left are his secondary posts in Psych. and Dynamics, and he will be in good shape to begin writing later this week!
Per our usual Monday routine, Brandon identified each of the assignments to be completed for Week 5. Brandon is extremely excited that this set of classes will be completed by next week, but he has a lot to do to prepare for his final exams and papers. To start, we tackled his Business Dynamics course, completing the Lecture reading and corresponding assignments. Brandon does well in this class and always completes the assignments in a timely fashion. We completed two sets of assignments, so it was a good day for us. Brandon will complete his quiz and discussion board tomorrow.
We started talking about the Uniform Commercial Code that governs the sale of goods. This is extremely detailed and specific material. There's a lot of information to cover this week, and it might be tough to get through all of it by the end of thursday. We'll do our best.

Lesson Comments
Brandon was tired to begin with, and combined with the dry nature of the material, lost interest and struggled to stay focused.
We finished up the material for the week discussing how the court provides remedies for the material breach of a contract. We went over all the different types of remedies and the situations in which they are uses. We then worked his discussion post and completed the quiz for the week. He again got a 4/5.
We finished up discussing the discharge of contracts, and began talking about what happens after a material breach of a contract. We talked about damages and the duties of each party to do their best to mitigate. Again, Brandon seemed to follow the lesson very well, and we should be in good shape to finish up the week tomorrow with remedies and his discussion post. There isn't as much material for this week, so we probably won't have to meet again on Firday.
Performance of Contracts
Conditions
Discharge
Impossibility/Impracticality
Now that we've covered everything about the formation of contracts, we've now shifted to performance of contracts, and how they can be discharged. Brandon did good job of following the discussion and seems to have a solid understanding of the concepts.
Determined to obtain an 8 of 8 on this article review, Brandon spent the majority of our class applying concepts from the text (company culture) to an article about Google's work environment and incentives. Brandon discussed the fact that Google provides its employees numerous incentives (flexible work hours, free lunch, free laundry, innovative work spaces) in order to facilitate an office environment that is friendly and conducive of employee productivity.
Brandon worked hard on his Business Dynamics assignments, completing the lecture materials on chapter 6-7 and then completing the subsequent chapter assignments. We read through lecture and then logged on to the text's website to complete each activity. Brandon completed each assignment with 100% accuracy. He then worked on the chapter quiz, scoring 100% on this assignment as well. At the end of our class, Brandon worked on his first primary discussion post for this course.
Brandon spent our class working on his two primary posts for Psychology. One of the posts asked Brandon to explain a hereditary inheritance that could be nurtured by environmental factors: i.e. if someone is smart and they go to the library, they become smarter. Brandon chose to write about personality inheritances like one's outgoingness, which can be nurtured by environmental factors like job settings, etc. The other post required more research, asking Brandon to consider an evolutionary trait that humans have adapted for survivability. Brandon chose to write about matrimony, saying that our society has evolved into this cultural ceremony as a way to ensure sexual encounters and therefore offspring.

Lesson Comments
Brandon was 30 minutes late to our session, so we only did 90 minutes worth of time.
We first discussed what a derivative is, and then went over some questions that Brandon had about his homework. First, we worked on how to write out mathematical reasoning, then we worked on how to apply the derivative formuslas: Product Rule, Quotient Rule, and Chain Rule
