After compiling a list of this week's assignments, Brandon and I focused on the Reading, Listening, and Viewing section of his College English course. We then read the assignment description and began work on his latest paper.
We finished the video and reading for the week, and then Brandon cranked out three very solid discussion posts. He should be finished with the work for this week tomorrow.
Brandon spent our session revising the first half of his process analysis essay and writing the second half: attire, answering questions in a direct and honest manner. I encouraged Brandon to take some time in submitting this essay, and he ended up conducting a hard-copy review of the document and catching some minor spelling and organization errors. Great lesson for Brandon, as his professor is a bit nit-picky about small writing details.
Brandon spent our class outlining the topic for his Process Analysis Essay, "How to Succeed in a Job Interview," and then spend the rest of his time writing the actual essay.
Brandon and I read through the "Lecture Materials" for College English, making note of the professor's expectations for Process Analysis writing. After this, we began writing his discussion board post in response to the question: "What is the hardest thing you have ever experienced?" Brandon wrote about taking Statistics and responded to two of his classmates posts. Good day for Brandon, very productive!
As per our typical Monday routine, Brandon and I compiled a list of this week's assignments for College English II, College Algebra, and Intercultural Communication. Afterwards, we began the Reading, Listening, and Viewing sections of College English, and then moved on to the "Lecture Materials" for the same class. We moved onto Intercultural Communication and started watching the recommended film, which took up most of the class period.
Brandon started out by taking his chapter 2 test, on which he scored a 10/10. He did not do what I suggested to prepare, and that is one I'm never going to hear the end of. We then wrote up his last discussion post and finished his paper for composition.
We finished up watching the video on peonage (which was fascinating), and listened to the lectures. We had solid discussion about the different types of histories and the impact they may have on communication. Brandon then wrote two very solid discussion posts, and is in good shape for the week.
