Brandon and I spent some time reading the rest of his textbook assignments. Afterwards, Brandon wrote his reader response, and we began brainstorming ideas for his narrative assignment.
Brandon seems to have a firm grasp on this week's material, but he definitely needs to be more focused on details for this class. He needs to write at least 5 discussion posts a week, which he's done 4 of so far. He spent the rest of the session working on math, so that he could focus on his paper all day tomorrow.
Brandon and I completed many of the readings for this week's college composition course (Reading, Listening, and Viewing/Lecture Materials/Discussion Posts). We continued by reading through some of his peer's introductory posts and replying to two of them in the discussion board.
At our reunion, Brandon and I took the time to read the syllabi for each of his classes (Intercultural Communication, College Algebra 2, and College Composition 2), compiling a list of this week's assignments and goals. Afterwards, we posted an "Introduce Yourself" discussion post in each of his classes and began reading work for English.
We went over the reading for the first part of the class. Brandon actually read a good portion (that I highlighted) and we had a solid discussion about culture and communication. He needs to do a couple of discussion posts each week, which we completed today. This class is going to be much more exam based, so he's really going to have to work on taking notes from the reading and lectures to make studying easier.
We started working on Brandon's new class today, which seems very interesting. He agreed to do more reading this quarter and I think we established a good system for how we're going about it. Today we watched the videos and lectures for the week, and had a little bit of time to discuss them.
