We reviewed yet again the basic components of a five-paragraph, persuasive essay. Cal's work from the previous week was barely a scratch of the surface with regard to what we've been doing so we went back to square one: how to write an introduction.

Cal put hardly any effort at all into his essay, which was a mish mash of nonsense and jargon, void of the structure that we have been studying. Very frustrated! Clearly, there is no follow-up at home.
We defined the word "matrix," showed some real-life examples and worked a few problems of matrix addition, matrix subtraction, and scalar multiplication of matrices. We also used the graphing calculator to work the same operations.
