Kelly's Geography teacher did not send any work, so we reviewed the units she had previously covered in preparation for a test she is missing this week.
Kelly and I reviewed the capital names and countries of Latin America. Kelly completed a fill in the map exercise. Next, we reviewed her notes and discussed the legacy of colonialism, generally in Latin America.
Today we listened to an NPR broadcast on the Arab Spring, then we read a few articles from the BBC on the developments in Egypt, Tunisia, and Libya since 2011, as well as an article on the role of IS in the current Arab crisis. Next we reviewed chapters 24 and 25 again, and then watched a portion of the documentary "The Square."
First we listened to an NPR broadcast on the Sykes-Picot agreement that broke up the Ottoman Empire after World War I. Next, we reviewed chapter 23 sections 1 and 2. Dylan took the corresponding quiz and did very well. Next we went over sections 3 and 4 on the histories of Iraq, Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, etc. Next week Dylan will take the corresponding quiz and the entire chapter test.
