Lesson Outline
1) Discuss 17th century literature: 1603-1660, Elizabeth Dies, Religious Turmoil between Catholics, Puritans, and the English Church, Charles I reign and execution, Charles II. Literature: jacobean Writers and Characterisitcs: Metaphysics, science and nature (Donne, Spenser, and Johnson).
2) Discuss the biography of John Donne: Who is he? What is his relationship between the Catholics and the English Church? What major shifts occurred in his writing?
3) Read: "A Valediction Forbidding Mourning," and Holy Sonnets 10 and 14.

Jessica had some nice insight into our Christian sonnets. I substitued 15 mintues of Jessica's previous session.
I received Jess's last 3 tests in the mail today. I haven't had a chance to grade them yet but will grade them soon. Jess completed the assignment during class today. On Tuesday she will complete the review, then take the ch. 6 test on Wednesday.
Jess will be able to: 1) find probabilities for binomial random variables; 2) Determine whether a probability distribution is binomial; 3) Find the mean and standard deviation for a binomial distribution.

Jess will be able to: 1) describe the transformations on the mean and standard deviation when a constant is added or multiplied to all of the observations; 2) compute the mean and standard deviation after the transformation is applied.

Jess is doing well. I am still waiting on the tests from ch's 3-5. It is possible that the ch. 6 test will given by the end of the week (early next week at the latest).
