Good session. Jess used the documents in the DBQ well but failed to generate a clear thesis. We reviewed this and she developed a more concise one during class. Overall it was an okay essay.
We spent the session solving indefinite integration problems.

Jess's attitude is fine. She has some confusion--which is normal--between the differentiation process and that of finding the antiderivative, but that should improve with more practice.
Discuss the general function of hormones. Specifically discuss negative feedback and using the example of insulin, determine how negative feedback works, what is the stimulus and why the response to that stimulus is decreased or stopped

Discussed research done for hw on growth hormone disorders in children and adults. Looked at pituiitary dwarfism and acromegaly
began a discussion of the pituitary gland.
We explored additional antiderivative formulas and worked an example for each. We discussed combining derivatives, the arbitrary constants in general integration problems and then constants based on initial conditions.

I was late getting started because I read my schedule incorrectly. Jess was very patient with me. (Rowan got me for an extra 15 minutes, much to his delight!) We did have a good class and she seems to be grasping the material well. She is leaving for Ocala (show season) tomorrow (Thursday) night. We will pick up with Skype classes on Tuesday, 17 Jan, after the MLK holiday.
