We reviewed the Pythagorean Identity for the Sine and Cosine Functions and then used other identities to derive the two other forms of the Pythagorean Identity. Then we used the Quotient Rule and substitution to derive the formula for the derivative of the tangent function.

Jessica and I discussed satire as a theme/genre today in our examination of the essay "7 Deadly Sins Committed at a Church Bake Sale." Jessica was asked to identity hyperbole and irony as figurative devices in the work; she was also asked to determine whether or not this piece of satire was able to critique the state of religious fanatics in the real world.
