2) Discussion Questions: how does the Valley of the Great Dairies differ from Tess's native Blackmoor Vale? What is Tess's mood as she journeys to Talbothays? Where has Tess seen angel before? How does she react to seeing him again? Why is Angel living at Talbothays? Why did Angel reject a vocation in the church? What impressions do Angel and Tess take away from each other after their meeting in the garden?
