We spent most of the session working problems involving the Segment Addition Postulate and using the Distance Formula to determine if segments, identified by the coordinates of their endpoints in the XY pane were congruent. We finished up with a discussion of Pythagoras based on last night's assignment.

Will and I took time at the beginning of the session to get to know each other. I asked him about his likes and dislikes regarding school, teachers, World History, as well as his travel experiences abroad. Each of these topics relate to our collaborative planning of the learning experiences for World History. We discussed the elements of World History of which he is most familiar, and what he has covered thus far. We then began to review the Renaissance, including its famous names, particularly artists, as well as the financial centers in Italy, trade routes through the East, and the impact of religion on the Renaissance.

We reviewed yesterday's lesson, explored a few real-world applications (including the artillery gunnery problem) and moved on to the distance formula as an application of the Pythagorean Theorem.

The session was via Skype to California. We covered definitions, notation and sketching of points, lines, segments, rays and planes.
