Anatomy and Physiology:
Vocabulary Flash Cards -
I made flash cards of all the vocabulary words that are from his study guide. We used these cards to help Gio study the long list. I also had created sample tests for him to read and try to understand in preparation for his test tomorrow. Homework: review flash cards and take sample test.

Anatomy and Physiology:
Vocabulary regions and cavities of the body -
Gio and I reviewed the extensive vocabulary related to his first two weeks of anatomy and physiology. We concentrated on the sections, quadrants, regions, cavities, and axial and appendicular organs and tissues. Gio was quizzed on the words, and we discussed how to use root words to figure out what some words mean. Homework: review notes for tomorrow
Equations involving radicals and rational exponents
Lesson Outline
Gio solved various equations involving radicals and rational exponents. He used strategies such as raising expressions to various powers, as well as using the root function. He also learned how to convert a rational exponential expression into a radical expression.
Gio continued last session's concepts of factoring and solving polynomial equations. After some instructor prepared questions, Gio prepared for an assessment. He took two practice tests, then completed the graded assessment.
Gio returned to the concept of factoring, except with polynomials of 2-4 terms. He factored these polynomials completely using three different methods. The methods included factoring by grouping, factoring with a quadratic pattern, and factoring by the sum and difference of cubes. We then applied these concepts to solve polynomial equations by using these factoring methods.
Gio learned how to rationalize denominators using complex conjugates. He later took a test over complex numbers. We then practiced number sense to continually improve his speed of computation.
Gio spent time reviewing last week's concept of evaluating imaginary numbers raised to powers. We then practiced operations involving complex numbers, including addition, subtraction, plotting on the complex plane, absolute value, and simplifying radicals. Tomorrow we will multiply complex numbers.
