Arianna practiced identifying and writing simple subjects and simple predicates in sentences. She practiced recognizing and using personification in writing. We read the next chapter of Harry Potter hoping to find evidence to confirm or disconfirm her prediction from yesterday. Surprisingly, we learned that the foreshadowing she pointed out was really just a red herring, the author threw us an unforeseen curveball.
Arianna continued to work on her comparative animal behavior study presentation that will compare the red fox to the coral snake. This morning she completed research on red fox habitat and range. She took notes and then created informative slides with photos in PowerPoint.

Lesson Comments
It was very nice to meet Mrs. Molina this morning during the parent conference.
Arianna felt worse as the day went on and was very stuffy and tired after lunch so we kept the lesson very light. Arianna completed 50 review multiplication facts and a spiral review on equivalent fractions and fractions of sets and regions. Then, we made a homework folder for her to bring home each day and discussed what was expected of her weekly.
1.Bottle Biography Project – Arianna completed reading a biography on Pocahontas and started on her pre-write which will turn into a 3-paragraph report. The final copy will be completed on the computer. Next, she will decorate a 2-liter bottle to look like Pocahontas.
As Arianna continued her reading of Harry Potter we focused on new vocabulary, making inferences, and predicting, She identified clues that point to a possible suspect and we looked back to see how the author used foreshadowing. Arianna tried to recall a time when she felt left out, like the muggle born students are now feeling, but she wasn’t able to make that connection. She wrote to describe the setting and mood of the Deathday Party.
