Analise and I sat together and looked through The Complete Guide to Animals by Barbara Toft. This is a very inclusive reference book containing hundreds of animals. Analise loved looking at the pictures and asking questions. She especially loved the baby animals. We discussed the difference between animals that have live babies (mammals) and animals that lay eggs. The habitats of the animals were touched upon, along with the diets of animals and the distinction between a carnivore, herbivore, and omnivore. She is very excited to continue the book on Monday since we only made it half way through.
Analise completed her next lesson on Reading Eggs working on sounds and word memorization. For history, she learned a new fact about Australia and worked on memorizing it. We watched a clip on real footage of native Australians chopping down trees and using the wood and an ax to create a boomerang. Analise waterpainted a boomerang template.
Today, Analise made a Spanish alphabet worm. She read the Spanish alphabet repeatedly as she cut and pasted a worm onto a poster. We hung up the poster in the hallway for all to enjoy.
Today, Analise reviewed the Spanish alphabet. We also saw a Spanish video which narrated the stories of the Three Little Pigs and The Ugly Duckling. She spoke to me in Spanish, and gave me a summary of each.
Analise flew through her piano pieces today with excellent focus and determination. I'm very proud of her excelling musicianship and her hard work. I see awesome things for her down the road!
Today we worked on remembering finger numbers as well as finding middle C. She's coming along very quickly with these! Au Claire de la Lune - working toward fluidity in the fingers moving from one note to the next. Nice job!
