Biology AP Chapter 51 Animal Behavior
To reiterate the processes that inform animal behavior, Keaton was shown a video of cooperation between and fish and an eel. We discussed the evolutionary processes that would inspire two different species to work together, We listened to radio lab podcasts on morality and intelligence in chimps, crows, and dolphins.
Today, Keaton worked on gathering information regarding the SeaWorld orca captivity debate, viewing clips of witnesses, as well as rebuttal interviews. He worked on his Definition essay regarding the definition of "Gentleman."
Today, Keaton and I had a long session. In brief, he did the following:
1. Completed a grammar packet on three of his areas of weakness--commas, semicolons, and pronoun-antecedent agreement.
2. Watched a video and read an article on Cambridge method of notetaking.
3. Watched a TED Talk (Trash is for Tossers) and took notes as he went.
4. Answered my questions regarding the TED Talk, using his notes, therefore proving he can take efficient notes.
5. Began the research process for his research paper, printing three credible, scholarly sources as a result. (I also showed him scholar.google.com, a very helpful research tool.)

He decided to expand his topic from "orcas in captivity" to "dolphins and whales in captivity." We will be watching The Cove for dolphin research. He found sources on the lifespan of orcas in the wild. This will be useful for his upcoming 5-6 page research paper.
