Closed Syllable Words and LCM and GCF Review
Lesson Outline
The session began with a review of the Least Common Multiple and basic multiplication facts. Symone also reviewed the Greatest Common Factor. The short vowel sounds, selected consonants and the digraphs were reviewed. The concept of closed syllables was introduced. The word cards from steps 1.3, 1.4, 1.5 and 1.6 were read by Symone (all of the words on these cards were nonsense words). For fluency practice Symone completed book one, story one from the Wilson Language series. She fluently read all of the words, phrases and sentences. For comprehension practice Symone completed Unit 6 from the Multiple Skills series, book C4. She did a fantastic job with her reading and answering the questions correctly.

WADE and Fluency
Lesson Outline
The Wilson Assessment of Decoding and Encoding (WADE) was administered to Symone. Upon completion of the WADE a review of the consonant and short vowel sounds was given. Symone was asked to read nonsense words from Step 1 of the Wilson Language Program. Next, she was asked to read a passage from the Multiple Skills Series and answer the questions that followed. Symone is a hard worker and a cooperative student.
