Today Hunter views a video on what can go into the carpentry of fixing up an older home. This is a Bob Vila production that goes into many aspects of rough framing such as collar ties, studs, bottom and top plates, window, and door framing. We were even taken into a window manufacturing company. This was a great viewing experience for Hunter.

Square Roots
Lesson Outline
Hunter has had a little difficulty with simplifying square roots. Today, I took some problems from an Algebra book and taught him more of the basics of simplifying radicals. We looked at it from 2 different perspectives: Taking the square roots out, and also factoring completely and then pulling out pairs of numbers as one. He seemed to understand it better after we went over the exercises, but I do want to give him some more practice.
