Today we completed a Learning Styles Questionnaire and answered Getting to Know You questions.
We also watched an engaging video on Economics 101.

Today we worked on evaluating expressions and combining like terms. Hunter seemed to remember the concepts. However he needed a bit of instruction on the operation of exponents.

Today we did a baseline assessment of Hunter's math skills. I know it has been a while since Hunter took Algebra 1 and it seems that we need to refresh his memory on some basic concepts.

We completed a worksheet with arithmetic problems involving positive and negative numbers.

We completed his 4-page math review homework sheet that included multiplying and dividing fractions, factoring, order of operations, etc. When Hunter is focused, he shows signs of brilliance.

We did problems on his EOC Practice test including solving quadratic equations, scatter plots, positive, negative, and no correlation, etc.

We worked through several problems and talked about strategy, e.g. do the problems he can do easily first, then do the medium hard problems, and the hardest last. The EOC test takes two days so I recommended Hunter come in tomorrow night to help him do better on Thursday.

We worked on the Algebra I EOC worksheet provided by his teacher. We were able to do through problem 10. He should do some of the problems at home so we can get through the stack.

We talked about the various methods for solving quadratic equations: the quadratic formula, completing the square, factoring, special equations, etc.
