Aiden continued his notes on meiosis. He wrote a description for prophase 2 and drew a diagram of metaphase 2. He drew a diagram of the reduction division.
Matthew built and launched a bottle rocket using a chemical reaction as fuel: baking soda plus citric acid. He learned about pressure building to create force, and the chemical reaction is endothermic which absorbs energy and becomes cold, and emits CO2 gas as a byproduct.
Aiden began learning about meiosis. He viewed and drew an illustration of the 23 pairs of human chromosomes in the human genome, so 46 total chromosomes. We discussed how each pair contains one chromosome from mom and one from dad. He recorded the definition of meiosis as making gametes, which are sperm and egg cells. He recorded that each gamete contains 23 chromosomes, which is half of a complete human genome.
