Gracyn began taking the 2-digit subtraction assessment. This covered vocabulary fill in the blank, using the number line to break apart the number being subtracted, drawing a quick picture to find the difference, and word problems. Gracyn has a few problems left that she will finish tomorrow.
Gracyn and I continued to read and discuss our Just Grace story. She read a page of the story on her own!!!! She read another Frog tale and answered comprehension questions correctly. On Raz-Kids, she returned to the Abigail Adams story that we listened to yesterday and began reading it independently. Word study was embedded in her reading and her typed responses to questions.
In this lesson, Gracyn learned about the stock concepts of supply and demand. She has quite a good mind for these business principles I have introduced. She very much understands the concepts. After a lesson, we listened to a book and answered questions.
Gracyn and I continued reading and discussing our Just Grace story. She read a persuasive passage with an enticing main idea and identified the four supporting details within. She also chose a level K book about Abigail Adams on Raz and listened to the story in preparation for reading it tomorrow. She was able to connect to the lesson presented by Abigail's life.
design fundamentals. Using the elements of lines and shapes, Gracyn did a drawing of balloons and colored them in. She then created some "original" drawings of clothes for her dolls. Then added the necessary colors. Very creative activity.

Today, Gracyn solved complicated multi-step problems. She used two two bar models to help her solve the word problems first determining which information was given before determining the functions needed to help solve. Once the first bar model information was found, Gracyn used that information to complete and solve the second bar model.
Gracyn continued her "music appreciation" by listening to more of Vivaldi's "Four Seasons." She listened to the rest of the "summer" section into the "fall" and we will save the "winter" to do in her next class. This is good for her to also recognize other instruments and their sounds.

Today in Spanish, Gracyn worked on learning the body parts in Spanish. We began by watching a video of Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes in Spanish. Then we drew a picture of a girl, and labeled the body parts in Spanish. We sang and danced to the song to practice memorizing the words.
