Today Gracyn and I watched a children's baking show. The kids baked lots of delicious looking desserts. Gracyn thought the strawberry cupcakes with strawberry icing looked the best. I definitely agree with her.
Today I subbed for Gracyn. We reviewed centimeters on a ruler. She went around the house and found different objects to measure. Then we completed her worksheet on centimeters. She did great!
Active yoga: mountain, volcano, wood chopper, cobra, half moon, gate pose (review), camel (new), and more. The last part of class was picking out letters in the ABC Yoga book and doing the poses. Gracyn also got to teach her little brother a few poses, i.e. lion and cobra. We read some of Peaceful Piggy Meditation.
The first part of Gracyn's Skype school was disturbed by the loss of the internet. When she was able to join me she wrote her spelling words one time each. Then we did her morning worksheet together. In writing we wrote about our favorite ice cream. We did a cute "rain" themed worksheet where Gracyn had to read a paragraph and find the word "rain." In science we watched videos on interesting animals that live deep in the ocean.
Today Gracyn and I skyped. We began our time by reviewing her new spelling words. She wrote them once. Then we did her morning worksheet together. In writing she wrote about her favorite thing that she did while in Atlanta. She wrote about the Atlanta Aquarium. She even was able to share pictures that her mom took from her trip! We did a worksheet on plural and singular words. I was so proud of her as she did not need my help at all. She was able to sound out the words and graph them. We also did a cute reading activity using the word "frog." In reading, she read "Animal Costumes" to her dad. It was very sweet as he was able to hear her read the story from graduation. In Bible we read Proverbs 10:12. We talked about how to love someone means to forgive them.
Today Gracyn and I skyped. First we drew pictures for some of her spelling words. Next we completed her morning reading, writing, and math review sheet. Next, she wrote her morning sentence. She wrote about how excited she is to go to Atlanta to see her daddy! We learned about singular and plural words and we completed a fun worksheet. In reading, I read her "Pinkalicious, a Pinktastic Day at the Zoo." She listened and then completed a book report on the story. Her favorite part was when Pinkalicious turned the zebra pink. In Raz Kids she read me a level C story on the cycle of an apple. She is very excited to see her daddy tonight in Atlanta!
