Our active part of class was "jungle yoga." We did monkey, lion, giraffe, cobra, elephant, leopard and gorilla walk. We then read "The Happiest Tree, a Yoga story." The story was about how yoga helped instill confidence in a young girl. We then had a short discussion on nutrition, talking about healthful snacks and food.

Today Gracyn and I skyped for gymnastics. We talked about the big competition coming up this weekend, the Pacific Rim Championships. We talked about how her favorite gymnast (Gabby Douglas) will be there and I also introduced her to another great US gymnast. We watched videos of both. I also explained to her that the NCAA Championships are also this weekend. We talked briefly about the differences between collegiate and professional gymnastics. We watch a video of a gymnast from Stanford. We then did some basic stretching together. We closed the session with Gracyn sharing with me some photos of her when she was a baby.

We continued with "Barbie Math" and also sang a couple of songs together ("Cups").

During her math time, we played "Barbie Math." This is a game that we created where she takes all of her Barbies, and we practice addition, subtraction, and even some basic division concepts visually. She really enjoyed this game and she did very well!
During the baking time, we watched a kids baking competition online. We discussed what they were doing as they were creating their cakes, and then Gracyn guessed who was going to be the winner.

Today Gracyn and I wrote about what we do on rainy days. This was perfect because it was raining at her house in St. Louis. Gracyn said that on rainy days she stays indoors and snuggles on the couch. Next, we focused on verbs. We did a cute flower worksheet where we had to identify verbs. When we found them we had to color the flower. In reading Gracyn read me a level D book called "Big Fish". She did a great job sounding out the words she did not know. After she finished reading, she took the reading comprehension test and answered all of the questions correctly.

Gracyn and I skyped today. We began by reviewing her spelling words. Gracyn wrote each word once. Next we completed her morning phonics and math review sheet. In writing she wrote sweet letters to all of her family members and teachers. It was a great morning together.

Gracyn's and I watched the Kid's Baking Championship! I can't believe how talented these kids are!!

Gracyn and I skyped from St Louis. Today we completed her morning work. She also wrote her spelling words one time each. Today we picked our favorite activity to do in spring and wrote about it. In reading we read a level C book on Raz Kids about sharks. It was a very interesting book! I learned about sharks I had never heard of, including he cat shark and the zebra shark! In Bible we read Proverbs 3:5

We were able to do several yoga poses in our Skype session. We went through our favorite poses: pigeon, cobra, alligator, happy baby, down dog, bow, and balancing table. Some standing poses were airplane, mountain/volcano, arm and shoulder rolls and elephant.

Graduation Celebration. We had a graduation ceremony in the afternoon followed by ice cream and brownies for students and parents.
