Teddy was very excited to make his own batch of cinnamon rolls after seeing Libby's, but he did a great job staying calm and working through the excitement. He was very intentional and careful while measuring ingredients and even tasted the filling and requested extra cinnamon. He was a little less enthused about spreading the filling onto the dough, saying that the texture was kind of gross, but he was very happy with the final result and was excited to share with teachers and family.

PJ did an excellent job remembering everything we had researched on Monday and really seemed to enjoy putting it into practice. He demonstrated a solid understanding of the core concepts we have been discussing and did a great job with his knife skills while prepping the vegetables and aromatics for the chili.

PJ really seemed to enjoy discussing the many variations of chili. He was particularly intrigued by Cincinnati chili which includes warm, mediterranean spices like cinnamon, clove, and allspice and is often served over spaghetti. Ultimately though, we landed on making a Texas inspired chili with some added hot peppers. We also discussed the different ways chili can be served (with cornbread or crackers, on a chili dog, etc.). PJ decided he wanted to make chili cheese fries.

PJ did a great job following the recipe and measuring precisely. He also had the great idea of adding just a touch of chocolate to the cream cheese icing and it really added a nice flavor to the final dish. The cinnamon rolls came out golden brown and delicious and the icing was great as well. PJ shared a few with teachers and packed up the rest to bring home and share with his family.

Lucas did a great job balancing flavors and combining ingredients to create two distinct and delicious pizzas. The first, a classic red sauce base with pepperoni, sausage, mozzarella and parmesan was his favorite, but he also very much enjoyed the second pizza that incorporated a pesto base, fresh cherry tomatoes, parmesan, mozzarella, and herbed goat cheese with a balsamic drizzle.
