Sam started class playing a puzzle game with her current Hoot vocabulary words. Then we read Daedalus and Icarus from her Open Court reading textbook. At the close of the story we completed a "Storyboard" an assignment on the whiteboard, highlighting the main and secondary characters why they did the things they did to, their conflict and resolution. After that she practiced spelling of sight words and created study cards, The sight words spelling list was derived from an assessment she took during her morning Wilson reading class.

Today was in introductory day for Samantha. She began the WADE. She will continue with it next week.

Today was my first time meeting sweet Samantha! We did a little bit on the piano - finding middle C, reading music, we even tried playing a taylor swift song! We also did a little bit of Jingle Bells. We spent a lot of today getting to know each other and laughing about Taylor Swift. I've made a list of songs she'd like to learn and I'll look into that for the next time we meet! It was a pleasure meeting Samantha today and I look forward to next week :)
