Danny and I set our objective to somehow calculate the height of Super Mario. After we watched a short video of Super Mario we still could not determine for certain how tall he might be. We will continue this research in a future session.
We practiced some mindful walking, breathing, and paying attention, on purpose to the present moment. Even though it's hard to slow down and be present, I think he's beginning to realize you can practice and get better at it.
Danny completed the real word spelling portion and the sight word spelling portion of the WADE test today. He also took the dictation portion of the test.
Danny's scores show good progress for the sub step 2.2 that he is now doing in the Wilson Program.

Danny showed very good memory for sounds for the Wilson level 2.2. His Sight Word spelling is very good. Danny is still working on many sound combinations in order to get a higher score. He would do well to continue Wilson three days a week all of next year for further progress.
Today's lesson introduced the concept of angles in 2-dimensional shapes. Danny counted and circled the number of angles of shown shapes along with writing the shape's names. Then, he drew lines to complete shapes so that it matched the number of given angles. Next, Danny used the number of sides and angles to sort 2-D shapes. He circled shapes from groups that followed the shown attribute rules. Danny finished with a 2-step daily word problem, circling the given numbers and looking for clue words to find the 2 different operations needed to complete the problem.
WADE testing for Wilson Evaluation END OF YEAR 6.2019
Lesson Outline
Danny started the WADE test with the consonants and digraphs. He continued giving the letters and sounds for vowel team, welded sounds, and additional sounds. Danny completed the reading of the sight words and the spelling of sight words. Danny will continue spelling sight words tomorrow. When a student misses five words in a row, the testing stops. Danny has already spelled enough words correctly to have completed thirteen words. For the remainder of the test, he will work on real words and dictation sentences.

Lesson Comments
Danny played in the yard after lunch for five minutes.
Danny continued working on habitats today. He read a passage on a forest habitat and what is found in the forest. He identified forest animals and we discussed how they are adapted for a forest habitat. He did a cut and paste activity where he placed forest animals in their habitat. He also completed a word web where he wrote the names of different forest animals on a graphic organizer.
I worked with Danny to create and place a transfer sheet of the last element of his painting, the word "SUPER". I darkened the lines and Danny painted the word in light brown. Once the word was complete, Danny colored in a shadow outline to the right of each letter.
Danny began reading an expository in his reading book called "Cold Dog, Hot Fox" today. He answered comprehension questions about the first part of the story on the Siberian Husky and how it survives in the cold. He compared this story to the previous story "Sled Dogs, Run".
This morning, Danny spent extra time outside after snack playing tug-o-war, jumping rope, and doing battle rope exercises with the other students. Then, he practiced 3-digit subtraction with regrouping problems using base ten blocks and solved 3-digit subtraction across zeros. A timed addition and subtraction facts quiz was also completed with Danny answering 20 out of 20 correctly.
