I attended Colson's parent teacher conference to discussed his progress in science class.

Aiden and I reviewed the nitrogen cycle, dead zones, solid waste, excess sediments, and eutrophication. We analyzed the diagrams and discussed.

Chris learned about the three types of volcanoes: cinder cone, composite cone volcano and shield volcano. We analyzed the diagrams and learned the characteristics of each. He watched a video of the types of volcanoes and read a book about how volcanoes form.

Chris watched a Mad Garden science video called "Earth's Layers" and completed guided notes. He read through the notes and we discussed the key points.

Aiden and I read and discussed human impact on land and water. We analyzed diagrams and charts of the following: deforestation, urbanization, pollution, conservation, reforestation, reclamation, nitrogen cycle and aquifer.

Teddy completed his interactive calendar, read and discussed his vocabulary words, worked on a phonics activity using beginning and ending sounds, finished his calendar talk activity, and watched a science video explaining how ants live and survive in a colony.

Colson read about the fossil record and geologic time scale. We discussed. He completed the Investigation "Analyze the Age." We analyzed the geologic time scale.

Libby completed her interactive calendar, read and discussed her vocabulary words, finished her calendar talk activity, worked on a phonics activity using beginning and ending sounds, and watched a science video about ants and how they live and survive in a colony.

Neco read and discussed his new vocabulary words: mass, kinetic, and energy. He completed his interactive calendar. He wrote the definitions of his vocabulary words in his notebook. We watched and discussed a video about energy, mass, and speed. We did and experiment to prove that a higher slope would increase speed.

Nico completed his interactive calendar. He reviewed force, drag, motion, and air resistance. He designed and made a parachute with fabric and string.
