Aiden read about and observed diagrams for convex and concave lenses. We discussed the convergence and divergence of light, and real and virtual images. He completed 3-Dimensional Thinking and Collect Evidence B.

Lesson Outline
Teddy completed his interactive Calendar, read and discussed his old and new vocabulary words, finished calendar talk activity, and worked on an activity in his Ant notebook. We went on an ant hill hunt. We found an extensive colony in the basketball court!
Chris learned about the layers of the Earth, their thicknesses, temperatures, and created a colored and labeled diagram: crust, outer mantle, inner mantle, outer core and inner core.
Aiden completed the lab "Looking Through Lenses" where he observed how light converges and creates a real inverted image with a convex lens, and diverges with a concave lens. He recorded his observations.
Colson removed his shell cast from the sand mold he made yesterday. We discussed how he modeled what paleontologists do in field in order to create a cast of a fossil. He reviewed types of fossils and watched a video about Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona. We discussed how the logs became petrified.
