Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies
Lesson Outline
Today Gwendolyn baked a batch of Oreo stuffed chocolate chip cookies. She combined the flour; baking soda and salt in small bowl and set it aside. She then put the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract into the Kitchen Aid mixer until it was creamy. Next, Gwendolyn added the eggs one at a time, beating them well after each addition. Gradually she added in the flour mixture and mixed it until it was combined. Finally she stirred in chocolate chips. She then took a large scoop of cookie dough and formed it around the Oreo cookie. Once the Oreo was completely enclosed Gwendolyn placed it on the cookie sheet. We baked them for 13 minutes. They turned out decadent!

Lesson Outline
Today Ben baked Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip cookies. Given that recess was a roaring success today - all the students played together - we had a shorter time to bake and so we cut the recipe in half: MATH! In addition, Ben was required to wash the dishes we dirtied.

Lesson Outline
Today Gwendolyn made savory Crepes with Nutella and strawberries. In a large mixing bowl Gwendolyn beat together flour and eggs. She slowly added milk and water. Next, she added salt and butter and continued beating the batter until it was smooth. Once the pan was heated we poured about 1/3 cup of the batter into the pan and tilted the pan and swirled it in a circular motion so that the batter coated the surface evenly. We cooked the crepe for about 1 to 2 minutes until the bottom was light brown. We loosened the crepe with a spatula, and turned the crepe over and cooked it for another 1 minute. Gwendolyn spread the Nutella and strawberries. The last step was to fold the crepe up. She then served the warm crepes. Everyone loved them!
