Gwendolyn made a beautiful batch of Chocolate Chip Scones with a Vanilla Glaze today. She mixed together the flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder in a medium-sized bowl until it was thoroughly combined. Next, she added the butter and worked it in until the mixture was crumbly. For the final step she added the heavy whipping cream, vanilla and chocolate chips. We transferred the sticky dough to a floured rolling mat and kneaded the dough. Gwendolyn then made the dough into a round 6” circle. We then cut the dough and baked it for 16 minutes. While the scones baked we mixed up a simple Vanilla glaze and drizzled it onto the scones once they had cooled.

Today Arianna made wonderful batch of Cadbury Chocolate Thumbprint Cookies. Arianna beat together the butter and sugar until it was creamy. She then added an egg and a dash of vanilla. Next, she mixed in the flour, baking powder and salt. Once the cookie dough was ready, Arianna rolled 20 balls of dough. She placed them on a ungreased baking sheet, and baked them for 10 minutes. When the cookies were cooled Arianna placed a small dollop of chocolate frosting with a mini Cadbury egg on top. Arianna's cookies looked like adorable little nests.
