Today, we are looking at the annotated bibliographies with a fine tooth comb to make changes, expand on ideas, and connect the dots on how all of these sources will benefit Ayden in his research essay.
We thought we were finished yesterday. It turned out that we found some more good sources to include! Ayden read them, and we worked together to summarize.
I was not informed that Ayden would be online today. When I initially checked Teams at 9:10, it said he was unavailble. (When I got ahold of him, he said he didnt wake up until after 9). Sometimes Ayden gets stuck at the bridge and doesn't get here until 9:25ish, so I assumed he was just running behind in traffic.
Ayden continued his annotated bibliography. He found that two of his sources were not good fits for his question, so he also sought out replacements for them.
I taught Ayden the SQ3R Method for reading any text. Then, we practiced it using a peer-reviewed journal article relevant to his research about Formula 1. He utilized Snap and Read to simplify the vocabulary and read the article aloud to him. We will continue this lesson tomorrow, as we only got through about half of the process in our time together.
