We first talked about the difference between revising and editing. Next, we discussed some strategies for getting into a rhythm of revising. First, we practiced my suggested strategy together. By the second paragraph, Ayden was doing a blend of his own style and my suggested method independently. He is making great corrections to his essay!
Finished defining his vocabulary words on Quizlet, then we played a game to define the word and use it in a sentence. Defining: 6/9. Using in context: 5/9.
We spent 30 minutes of Eng IV time working on his identity essay so that we can meet our goal of finishing it by Wednesday of next week (2/23).

Using the January words, I analyzed his practice data and narrowed down the list to 27 words to focus on. He created a quizlet with definitions in his own words. Next, we discussed the upcoming unit on college prep (study skills, APA, etc.) using an informational text. We discussed possible topics of interest.
