Today we created a PowerPoint file using drawings we made while playing a guessing game using letters of the alphabet. We are building computer skills through formatting, creating slides, saving files, and improving keyboard and mouse skills.

Mercer was engaged and enjoyed playing the guessing game while creating PowerPoint slides. Without knowing, he is building computer skills and capability through creative processes.
We decided to work on a new project including a series of actual pictures that we will take, uploaded to Teams and incorporated into PowerPoint slides.

Our session was right after lunch and Kellan updated me on an issue that arose outside. He said that Mercer and Sebastian were bullying Richard and that he was mad at them. He said that Mr. Shihan intervened and was aware of the issue so I did not feel it was necessary to intervene. I remain concerned about Sebastian's influence on Mercer.
Today's lesson was to logion to office 365 including email and then work on a PowerPoint presentation.

Judie came to talk with Mercer at the beginning of this session. I am concerned about the influence to Mercer coming from Sebastian. When they are together, Sebastian seems to drive poor behavior to Mercer and he seems to be following out of need for a friend. Mercer appears to be much more defiant since his involvement with Sebastian. For today, Mercer was very cooperative and did a good job working on PowerPoint.
We worked on learning how to login to office 365 and then open the Batt School email and send a message. After that we played chess on the computer for a few minutes.

We also worked with Hank on the computer today. The boys were mostly cooperative.
Ben and I discussed his activities and accomplishments since I last worked with him. He was very proud of his Twitch account.
Ben and I then worked together to download and access 3DC.io. This was done so that Ben can have access to this free software wherever he has access to a computer.
Ben had expressed being overwhelmed with other design software in the past. So, as a low-pressure introduction, he was given 8 minutes of exploratory time.
He took to the software like a fish to water. He able to design a 3D well with a rudimentary cover.

I think that Ben may have a genuine interest in this area.
I will continue to push forward in this topic with him.
Today we logged in to Microsoft Office to review software functions and sent emails.

Mercer was not found until about 15 minutes after his scheduled class. As it turns out, he and Sebastian were meeting with Judie in the conference room. He returned to his classroom around 12:45 and we worked on computers during the session. We had trouble accessing software on Mercer's tablet but used a Batt School computer to get around the issue.
We worked on creating a short movie using slightly modified drawings on each slide. We uploaded the file to Kellan's Team's folder.

Kellan worked with me to create a PowerPoint movie using 5 slides. It works well with his interest in drawing. Now that he sees the capability, I expect future efforts will be more detailed.
