Today, Sebastian was asked to finish a reel showing a compilation of his best work. His film teacher, Ms. Marsha, requested that he finish the final 45 seconds of it during my class, so we used half our session for Sebastian to complete his assignment. He is to share it with his mother this evening. We then worked on Duo Lingo for the second half of our session. Sebastian was given exercises which enlisted his listening skills to answer multiple choice questions. These lessons help him practice his understanding and speaking of French. We worked on greetings today, which reinforced and consolidated recently acquired skills from prior lessons.

I was asked to sub for Sebastian today, Friday, 5/14/21, from 12:30-1:30, having been taken off Santino, with whom I was originally scheduled. I was informed of this change at 10:15AM. Ms. Marsha, his film teacher, beeseched me to have Sebastian finish his project (reel) in my class (in front of mom, as well). I agreed to work on it for half the session.
Opening scene sequence TRAILER; 45 sec Reel of his Best Work to be viewed by his parents for release on YouTube; Sebastian is revising the storyboards of 3 scenes to shoot on location: Pool, Garage, Bathtub.
As Sebastian read about the establishment of the Southern Colonies, he completed a chart that included when the colonies were founded, where, by whom and for what reason. Sebastian is progressing in looking back in the text for answers and support.

Sebastian had inside recess today because of yesterday’s encounter with the VPK students. He spent the time on his I-Pad. He went to the restroom once and was back in an appropriate amount of time. He listened and completed work his work.
Sebastian continued an exercise from the 5th grade math Envision textbook, Adding Fractions With Unlike Denominators. He also practiced several multiplication facts.
In today's lesson Sebastian and I completed an interactive simulation to investigate seasons. This simulation allowed us to change the angle of the Earth's tilt to determine the influence of it on our planet's temperature. We determined that the tilt changes the direction of the sun angle hitting the surface, transferring more or less heat to the area.
Reading Strategy –- Finding Word Meaning in Context –- STARS workbook pages 76 and 78 -
This activity practiced answering questions from the use of the context in a passage.
Grammar - Quotation Marks – Sebastian reviewed all quotation rules taught so far and had to apply it to several sentences provided to him.
Writing - Slide Project –Sebastian started to add the pictures of the students into his slide show.
Homework of a 45 sec. reel to be completed for review by parents for YouTube. Shoot/Capture footage and sound to create a REEL with the intention to post on YouTube. Curating footage to a soundtrack, editing in time.
