map activity, positive and negative effects of trading with Naive Americans
Lesson Outline
Given a blank map outlining the 13 colonies, Sebastian identified the colonies, drew the symbols (using the key) for the main products in each colony and color coded the New England, Middle and Southern colonies. Sebastian read and learned about trade between the settlers and the Native Americans. He did well on a cut and paste activity in which he determined if given statements were a positive or negative effect of the trading.

Lesson Comments
Sebastian said he needed to go ask Elise about his lunch. He also left to go to the bathroom and then again to get a snack from his room. He came back without a snack. He was encouraged to write out words rather than abbreviate them.
We started today with cleaning out his room for the summer.
Game Day-
Spelling – We played “Boggle”, a fast tile game of spelling.
We also played “Exploding Kittens” a game of chance.
Sebastian began an exercise from the 5th grade math Envision textbook, Solving Equations With Division. He also practiced several multiplication facts.
In today's session Sebastian and I went over the apparent movement of the stars. For this we created an example to show more about why the stars appear to move. The example had a light source in the middle of a room and images on each wall. It is hard to see past the light source but if the light source is behind you, the image is clear. Depending on what you are in front of, the image you see is different. This explains why the constellations you see during the year are different, this is apparent movement. We also went over universe, galaxy, solar system and planet definitions.
Rough cut experiments for underwater GoPro footage for the TCUS3 film; slo-motion edits in Premiere and sound effects/soundtrack composing in DJay app on iPad.
Review footage of Behind The Scenes (BTS).
The YouTube 45sec Best Work semester final edit is in progress.

Reading – Sebastian played an educational game called “ Weird But True!” by National Geographic Kids. This is a game of problem solving; answering questions about strange animals, wild places, phenomena and more while you deduce what exactly is weird, but true.
Sebastian learned how to read a nutrition label. Sebastian identified how to calculate the nutrition with the appropriate servings. Sebastian identified the risks of sugar and the health complications that can arise with eating too much sugar. Sebastian picked ten beverages and made predictions about how much sugar was in each drink. Sebastian researched the sugar and saw if he was close to his prediction. Sebastian identified the risks in eating too much sodium. Sebastian made predictions how much sodium was in multiple foods. He researched the answers to check his predictions. Sebastian planned out a healthy day of eating enough fruits, vegetables, grains, dairy, and protein with the foods he likes.
